LET'S GET THIS PARTY STARTED, SHALL WE?

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Where are you based?
I am based in Southern Oregon and travel regularly to California (San Francisco, Napa, Carmel, Santa Barbara, San Diego), New York (Ithaca, New York City) and Texas (Houston, Austin, San Antonio) throughout the year. However I book weddings, elopements and portrait commissions in destinations worldwide. I love to travel and add new cities to my portfolio!

Do you shoot film or digital?
I am primarily a film shooter, but depending on the situation will also use digital, as they each have their own advantages and ability to produce beautiful images. All of my digital images are edited to look like film and match my film scans, ensuring that your photos will flow seamlessly.

Do we have to do an engagement session?
Certainly not, but I highly recommend it...they're so much fun! Engagement sessions give us a chance to get to know each other, and spend some time in each others presence before your wedding day.

Do you use a preferred second photographer?
When I choose a second photographer to work alongside of me, I make sure they are experienced professionals with a style similar to my own. I edit all images taken at a wedding to ensure consistency.

Do you offer prints and products?
Yes! I am so passionate about providing tangible products so I offer an array of heirloom prints and products. My custom linen albums come in a variety of sizes, and I also offer fine art prints, canvas wraps, matted prints, linen folios and much more.

How do I book with you?
Half down is required to reserve your date. The remaining balance is due one month before your wedding date. A wedding date is not reserved until the retainer and a signed contract have been received.

For portrait commissions, only your session fee is due to reserve your date. The remainder of your package is due 4 weeks prior to your shoot date.

When will we receive our photos?
You will receive your wedding gallery approximately 4-6 weeks after your wedding, and a portrait gallery is usually online within 2-4 weeks...depending on the season.

Do you have insurance and backup equipment?
Yes, I am fully insured by a reputable professional company and have backup camera bodies, lenses and other equipment.

DESTINATION COMMISSIONS

At Betsy Blue, we love serving our clients both near and far. Whether you’re planning a wedding in our beautiful Oregon or an anniversary session on the Amalfi Coast, we are always eager to accommodate your destination photography needs wherever it may take us. Here are some answers to frequently asked questions regarding our destination services:

What are your destination photography fees and prices?
Our destination photography packages are the same as our standard local photography packages.  Additionally we require coverage of the following items depending on your unique destination:
1) Airfare + Baggage
2) Hotel accommodations
3) Rental car + Fuel
4) Vendor meals for the day of the event(s) + $30/day per photographer for meals on travel days

How many people do I need to fly out?
Depending on your package, timeline and guest count, we generally only need Betsy plus possibly one assistant photographer for a wedding, or just Betsy herself for non-wedding sessions. In addition, we would like to depart for the destination a day in advance so that we have plenty of time to scout out your venue as well as ensure that we will be on time to the location on the day of the event.  As for the departing flight, we typically book our return tickets for the day after your last event.

Do I book your travel?
We take care of all of our own flights and rental car reservations. One less thing for you to worry about!

Do you offer discounted packages for destination photography?
Generally, we do not offer discounts on our destination work, however we are happy to create customized packages for all our couples, to ensure our offerings are what best suits their unique needs. And if your wedding happens to be in one of our favorite cities/countries...we'd be more than happy to discuss unique ways to make it work with any discounts we can both creatively think of. ;-)
